My name is Nikita (Nick, Niče*), and I've never been good at writing bios.
I am a fourth-generation Russian-American who cares deeply for his heritage, but not too much. I live on a ranch in Northern California, and have 10 goats. I was born in San Francisco and raised in the surrounding areas, though, so it's gonna be pretty hard to take the city out of this boy.
I speak three languages and have a knack for translation and historical linguistics. Once I settle in with this site themeing I'll see if I can reupload some of my work, since that's part of the reason I maintain this place anyway. My conversational skills are pretty poor, though.
I feel like a lot of Neocities users I run into have some sort of mannifesto or philosphy about the Old Web that influences how they interact with their own website or the Internet. I'm definitely not unique in this, but I don't have any of that sort of thing. I just wanna do my own thing, as I'm sure others want to. Y'know?
My only exception to this is DRM. I won't even use Steam, even if that's generally accepted even among other people who hate DRM. If I want to play a game on my PC, I'll check GOG or Itch.io. Ideally I can support the creator (especially if they're a smaller group).
