Яшлык

The ensemble 'Яшлык' (Yashlyk) is the founder of the Uyghur variety art. They organized in 1973 at the State Republican Uyghur Theater. The founder of the ensemble is Murat Akhmadiev—the creative leader and soloist of the ensemble (currently deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan).

Under his leadership, the ensemble became a diploma winner of the sixth All-Union Competition of Variety Artists in Leningrad in 1978, the Competition of Political Songs in Yerevan in 1979, the first All-Union Competition of Political Songs of the Countries of the Socialist Commonwealth in Yalta in 1980, the 12th International Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow in 1985. In 1980, VIA 'Яшлык' became the laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize of Kazakhstan for concert and performing activities in 1974-1980 and active participation in the aesthetic education of young people. The ensemble toured in USSR cities, and also in Hungary (1979), Bulgaria (1981), and Romania (1984).

The composition of the group consisted of: Yakunjan Shamiev (vocal, solo guitar), Kakharman Iminov (rhythm guitar), Azatjan Razamov (tambourine, miniatures), Makhmudzhan Daraev (ravap, pantoie), Sheripjan Khaletov (percussion instruments), Mirkhalil Khaletov (bass guitar), Marat Mametbakiev, Ruslan Tokhtakhunov, Aziz Masimov, Adiljan Janbakiev, Dilmurat Bakhorov. Soloists Makhigul Tokhtakhunova, Roza Ibragimova, and Gulnara Saitova also worked in the collective.

Time passed, the ensemble changed many times, and in 1996 children from the first group came and from that year the young 'Яшлыка' is being counted, in which they played and sang: Dilshad Akhmadiev (vocal), Yadykar Shamiev (arrangements, keyboard) and Bakhtiyar Khasanov (bass guitar, back-vocal, percussion instruments).
