PREVOD - PESNI

I share music I like with my loved ones often. Unfortunately, since I'm the only Russian-speaker in that group (for the most part), I find myself translating a lot of songs. I also translate songs to understand their meaning more intimately, and my Russian classes usually included songs to study the grammatical structure of.

Анжелика was a group from Saratov, founded in 1988. The two singers are Yulia Geniush and her sister, Nadezhda Geniush.

Alena Apina is a Russian pop artist who started her career working with the group Комбинация. In the 1990's, she went off to her own solo career, and has been largely successful since.


ВЯЧЕСЛАВ ДОБРЫНИН (29/??? songs)

Viacheslav Dobrynin is a singer-songwriter who rose to popularity during the rise of the VIA.


КОМБИНАЦИЯ (12/??? songs)

Комбинация is a late- and post-Soviet woman's pop group, created in 1988 in Saratov. They became very famous in the 90's.


LAROCHE-VALMONT (5/10 songs)

Laroche-Valmont is a French magazine publisher turned one-hit-wonder of the 1980's.


ЛАСКОВЫЙ МАЙ (23/??? songs)

Ласковый май is a Soviet-era boyband created by Sergei Kuzentsov in 1986. Yuri Shatunov was likely the most famous of the singers.


СТУДИЯ ГРАН-ПРИ (12/32 songs)

Студия Гран-при is an early post-Soviet synth-pop band. Soloists were Irina Minina, Vladimir Kopysov, Yuri Mikheev.
