В синем море, в белой пене (In the Blue Sea, in the White Foam) is a Soviet animated film based off of an Armenian folk take.
In the film, a boy and his grandfather find a jug in the water while fishing. Upon opening the jug, a wizard comes out and thanks the boy for saving him. He then kidnaps the son and brings him to the ocean, attempting to trick him into agreeing to become his student, presumably so that he may share the same fate as the sea king once did.
The story the film is based off of was adapted by Hovhannes Tumanyan, who is the national poet of Armenia.
This was my first attempt at 'localisation'. Some things are changed for the sake of making sense in English, but it is otherwise directly translated from the original script.
The missile says 'No smoking!' in English.
I goofed. At the end I wrote 1884, instead of 1984.
