DAWs I've used

Soundation (2013)

Soundtrap is a freemium online DAW. is pretty good for what it is, but I remember it being pretty limited. I used it a decade ago, though, so it might be much better now.

Onlinesequencer (s. 2015)

Onlinesequencer isn't a DAW per se, but an online MIDI maker. It's extremely limited, but it's fun to make and see what others are making. You can also download stuff from the site, so I'll use it if I'm not in the mood to open FL.

Soundtrap (2016-2018)

Soundtrap is a pretty good freemium online DAW. It comes with a two week free trial where you can use absolutely everything, but after that it stifles you to just the very basic stuff. You could probably use multiple emails, but I'm not encouraging it... Wink.

FL Studio (since 2018)

FL is one of those professional tools. It's a pretty solid DAW, and it's the one I use right now. I don't have many complaints, though is it possible to change the time signature? I never figured that out...

MY MUSIC

I've been working with music software since I was maybe 10 years old. While I've never had any musical training, I still like to make stuff in my free time. I've been having a music-block lately, but I'll post some of my favourite works here.

Experiments + covers

There are a lot of songs I would love to cover someday, but lots of them are lacking an instrumental. While I personally am not a huge fan of recreating instrumentals, when push comes to shove, I'll do it. The harest part for me, usually, is the drums. But it's generally not that hard to isolate the instruments when listening. Here are two examples I'm still really proud of:

ledi-disko

Pirmasis laiškas (og. Ledi-Disko)

debiutas

Atleiski man (og. Debiutas)

Outside of just making covers of this kind of music, I've also been trying to recreate this kind of genre. Admittedly, I'm not too good at, but here were a couple things I made in that attempt. I might use the second one for a VOCALOID song or something, but I prefer to just listen to it as it is.

You can also check out /chipmusic, where I expriment with VSTs and soundfonts made to mimic soundchips from old computers. I plan to delve into trackers eventually, but they're very daunting and difficult to me, at least for now...

My earlier works

The very first things I ever made were on Soundation. While I have access to most of them, a handful of them have been lost to time. Despite this, I still remember what the very first one I made sounded like:

Theme of Sofija Čaklais

Theme of Sofija Čaklais (Alt)

Sofija Čaklais is one of my earliest OCs. While I probably won't talk too much about them here (at least, compared to the old days), she's still there in my brain and I think of her often. Her original concept was different, but she's a therapy robot who could stand to take her own advice.

I also was active in the VOCALOID community from 2017 to about 2020. While I never officially quit, I very rarely make songs with the program anymore. I had a song lined up for Gackpoid's 10th anniversary a few years ago, but it's long since been taken down. Here's a remastered version of the instrumental:

gackpoid from dancing samurai

Everything (Gackpoid 10th)

I planned on eventually using the instrumental to write a new song, since I still like the energy of it. Maybe I will in the future, but it's on the back-burner for now...

A lot of my VOCALOID music is inaccessible, and I'd like to keep it that way. However, you can check out my YouTube for some more examples, as well as a five-hour long video containing a lot of the music from this era. Be warned, I've been stepping away from being solely a music channel, so it might feel kind of disorganized...
